I am a licensed marriage and family therapist who specializes in working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and trauma that leads to difficulties with regulating emotions. I am passionate about understanding my clients’ world views and helping them to understand why they do what they do while making changes simultaneously. I use a mix of humor and validation to point out unhelpful thought patterns that we tend to get stuck in because as stressful and overwhelming as life can be, we could all benefit from a little laugh sometimes.

My experience and training have been in high-risk settings geared toward stabilization. With the use of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) I can support those who severely struggle with emotional regulation learn to manage distress, improve relationships, and practice mindfulness. I focus on balancing the dialectic between acceptance and change (what you’re doing totally makes sense and it’s not working for you so let’s work on changing it.) Other modalities I use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy and narrative therapy.

In addition to working with individuals, I also work with couples and families. I use a blend of Gottman’s research, systemic therapy and DBT to support couples and families with navigating improvements in their relationship. I want to help family members increase understanding of each other and improve their ability to communicate individual needs.
